Term 3
Term 3 is set to be an exciting and enriching term for our class! The children will be exploring a range of fascinating topics, from learning all about the Tudors in History to planning and creating a three-course meal in Design and Technology. In Science, our focus is space and materials, and the children have already begun the term by working collaboratively to separate different materials into groups (without using their hands!) In DT, they have also started taste-testing to explore complementary flavours and develop their understanding of food combinations. Our History lessons will immerse the children in the life of Henry VIII and other significant figures of the Tudor period. To complement our learning, our class book this term is Treason by Berlie Doherty, which promises to spark thoughtful discussion and curiosity.
Term 1
Welcome Back!
We’re excited to kick off a fantastic new term filled with rich learning experiences. This term, our history focus will take us back in time to World War II, a theme that will also tie into our English lessons. Our core text will be Letters from the Lighthouse, which will help bring the period to life through powerful storytelling. In science, we’ll be exploring the fascinating topic of living, growing, and changing. Over in DT, the children will be designing and sewing their very own waistcoats, while in art, they will be discovering the creative possibilities of photography. It promises to be a term full of creativity, discovery, and learning! The year 6's will be off on their adventure to Plas Pencelli for a week and will present their favourite memories in a school assembly.
