Welcome to our School. If you are considering Fitzmaurice for the first time or you wish to find out what your children are learning I hope you will find everything you are looking for.
We are very proud of our School and everything we achieve; at Fitzmaurice there is something for everyone. We love our grounds … if you have never seen them you must come and visit. We have our own orchard, garden and forest schools area plus plenty of playing space. The children are regularly found cooking in their own kitchen using ingredients found on site; recently we’ve enjoyed a vegetarian curry followed by a delicious blackberry and apple crumble.
We love our sport and music. A recent survey showed that a huge 95% of children are active at break and lunchtimes enjoying a wide variety of activities led by our Peer leaders (Year 5 & 6 children). Our children regularly play their instrument to the rest of the school. Our curriculum allows for exciting things; we recently helped to create the World’s Largest Paper bag and have got ourselves into the Guinness World Records! Alongside all of this we achieve high academic standards and prepare our children well for their move into secondary education.
Our School values are simple but help us in everything we do:
Aiming high, having fun and showing respect.
These are really important to us; everyone in school is always demonstrating these. When you come into our entrance hall you will be able to see the children’s rockets where they have succeeded in aiming high; you will see when you look at the newsletters all the fun things we do and see the children who have been rewarded for showing respect around School.
Our School Improvement Partner said ‘that we have the look and feel of an outstanding school’ – we’d like you to come and see our wonderful school for yourselves. Please give the Office a call to arrange a visit. I look forward to meeting you soon.
“The school provides a very welcoming and extremely safe and secure environment, which very effectively nurtures pupils’ learning, personal development and well-being.”
