  • Bear Grylls – The Great Indoors activitiesBear Grylls might be the king of the outdoors, but he also knows a thing or two about challenges which can be done in the confines of the house, too. Bear has teamed up with the Scouts to create 100 indoor activities to ward off boredom while kids are stuck indoors for most of the day. The Great Indoors will be a weekly live video feed and activities include making lolly-stick catapults, origami and designing and making hot-air balloons and all activities can be done in the house or garden. https://www.scouts.org.uk/the-great-indoors/

Lights, Camera, Action!

We began our ‘Lights, Camera, Action’ topic this term with an old fashioned trip to the movies (at school). The children watched clips of some of the first animations ever created for entertainment.

Our writing will draw on the theme of animation. We will be delving into the world of Walt Disney and looking at how his innovative ideas and fascinating career helped to lead to the evolution of the film industry which we know today. Following research, will be using our knowledge of Walt Disney in order to write an information text about his life and career. This also ties in with our History, in which we will focus on how various techniques and technologies have progressed over time, within the film industry.
