We have been so, so busy with our learning during our ‘Incredible Me, Incredible You’ topic that it is hard to believe we are only six weeks into the term! Our new theme, beginning this week, is ‘Our Wonderful World’.

We have already begun this exciting topic by beginning to research the use of non-biodegradable materials as a class. This is linked to our writing focus, in which we will be creating information texts about the use of plastics.

In Science, we will be approaching the theme of ‘Our Wonderful World’ by investigating the habitats of various plants and animals and considering the human impact on these environments. We will also investigate what we could do to improve how well Fitzmaurice cares for our school grounds.

In Geography, the children will develop their map, atlas and globe skills in order to discover more about the world around them.

For our DT project, the children will be creating a nature-inspired sculpture, using recycled materials. There will be a particular focus upon choosing materials which are best suited for our project and exploring ways in which we can attach these.

Watch this space for photographs of our recycled materials project!
