Message from Mrs Keating

Hi Owls! Just a quick message to say that I'm really missing you. I hope you are all ok, keeping healthy, happy and safe. I've seen a few of you around whilst doing our daily exercise but hope to see you all very soon.

Take Care- from Mrs Keating

Key Information about being an Owl

This will be on Thursdays and Fridays.

Please ensure your P.E. kit is in school every day, in case there is a visitor or change to the usual routine.

Water Bottles

Please ensure your child brings a water bottle to school for use in the classroom – this will avoid the need for ‘popping out’ for drinks during learning time.

Term 3

We start this term by looking at the Anglo-Saxon discoveries at Sutton Hoo. The rest of the term our theme will be 'Fantastic Beasts', which will include a range of opportunities for the children in our class to work imaginatively. Our core text will form a base for exploring and writing adventure stories.

The theme of “Our Wonderful World” is a whole school topic and will brought to life in our class by investigating the impact we are having on the environment, particularly animals.

We will be reading the book 'The Last Wild' by Piers Torday.

In Science we will be investigating the properties of materials and will expect the children to have learnt the facts on the Knowledge Organiser by the end of the topic.

Which material is the most absobent?

Term 1

Our first topic this year is 'Incredible Me, Incedible You!'

Our main focus in this learning will be the book

'All the things that could go wrong'  by Stewart Foster.

In Science we have been studying how nutrients are transported around our bodies.
In Geography we have been learning about the United Kingdom. All the facts we are learning about can be found on the Knowledge Organiser attached below.

We have been sketching self portraits and making detailed sketches of some of our key features.

Our fantastic self portraits! Look carefully at the detail and shading we've added. Can you spot who's who?
