Merlin Class Assembly Date Change – Due to Miss Williams being poorly earlier in the week, Merlin’s Class Assembly will now take place on Friday 12th February and not Friday 5th February. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience that this may cause. A Parentmail was sent on Tuesday morning to this effect. All parents/carers are welcome to go to class after assembly to look at their child’s work.
Cross Country T-Shirts – Can all Cross Country Fitz t-Shirts be washed and returned to school by Monday please!
Running Club – Please note Running Club will not be held on Friday 12th February. Safer Internet Day – On Tuesday 9th February, the whole school will be taking part in ‘Safer Internet Day’. We will be building on the work that we did with Karl Hopwood back in October. This year the theme is ‘play your part for a better internet’ and the children will be considering what they can do to help make the internet a kinder place. Perhaps you could talk to your child about what actions they could take to make the internet a kinder place?
As part of our learning, we will be running a competition for the children to create an Internet Safety poster to go alongside our new Acceptable Use Policy. The winning entry will be displayed in every classroom to remind everyone how to stay safe when using the internet.
You can find out more by visiting the Safer Internet website:
Lost Property – Final Call! – There are still many items of lost property in the bins in reception. Any items that are not reclaimed by the end of term will be recycled or sold in the next second hand uniform sale!
Glasses – We have a number of pairs of glasses that have been handed in to reception.
Dog Wardens – Attached is a flyer from the Wiltshire Council Dog Warden Service. It details the role of the Dog Wardens and the importance of bagging and binning any mess from your dog. Can we use this opportunity to remind all parents that dogs are not allowed on our school grounds and should not be tied up on the railings near to any school access sites.
Last Saturday’s screening of the LEGO Movie was an ‘AWESOME’ success! Well done and thanks to Ian Miller and his Kids Film Club team for raising £130 for Fitz Friends. The children voted for “Big Hero 6“ (PG) to be shown at the next Film Club – date to be confirmed. A purse was found after the event so please ask at the school office if it belongs to you.
The next Fitz Friends meeting will be in the Canal Tavern on Wednesday 10th February at 7.30pm. All welcome!
