Huge congratulations to Toby P who has recently gained his black belt. Well done Toby!
Quad Kids – On Monday 10 children represented Fitzmaurice at a Quad Kids competition at Bath Uni. Each of us had to do four different events, 75 metre sprint, standing long jump, throwing a vortex and 600 metre long distance run.
There were 220 children from 22 nearby schools, we all enjoyed the experience and the atmosphere was great.
We were all excited to find out that we won the whole competition by 250 points and that Joe A and Carys M were individual winners too……………….absolutely BRILLIANT!! We now have to go to Marlborough to take part in the West Wilts Quad Kids final in July. Well done everyone! Written by Toby and Jess L
Athletics club – Please note that this will not run on Thursday 16th June for 1 week only.
Orange Wig Day – Mrs Dunn and Sam C managed to raise £58.37 last Friday for the Allergy and Anaphylaxis awareness campaign. Thank you to all who contributed.
Football club – If any year 4 children wish to sign up to Football club being held in readiness for a tournament next term, please sign the parental consent sheet held in the office. Please note only those children that regularly attend the club will be in the team for the tournament.
Rounders club – Rounders club is due to start in term 6 on Wednesday’s from 3.30-4.15 for KS2 children. Currently there are insufficient numbers to run the club so if your child does wish to sign up for this club, please contact the office as soon as possible. Please note that if numbers are not higher then we will have to cancel this club.
Queen’s Birthday celebration day – On Friday 24th June we will be holding a “Birthday Celebration Day” to commemorate Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday. Children can wear red, white and blue clothes or “royal” clothes and will be making crowns on the day to parade around the playground.
Lost Property – The lost property bins are full again. Please check to see if you can claim any items. Anna Harford will be in the playground after school tomorrow by the cake sale with the lost property items. If unnamed school wear items remain in the bins after Friday afternoon, they will go to the second hand uniform sales and any unnamed casual clothes will be placed in the ragbag collection.
Merlin class cake sale date change – Please note that this will now be held on Friday 10th July and not 17th June as previously planned.

Strawberry Fair countdown…3 weeks to go!
There are still some slots to fill on the stalls so please sign up in reception or email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. An hour of your time could really make a difference as some stalls may not be able to run unless we find enough helpers. Thank you very much.
Fitz Fashion Finds
Over half term please dig out your unwanted, good condition clothes for our Fitz Fashion Finds stall at the Strawberry Fair. Dresses, tops and accessories all gratefully accepted. There will be a box in the school office from Monday 6th June.
Get filling those jars over half term!
We need loads of Jumble Jars for our tombola-style stall at the Strawberry Fair. Please fill clean jars with treats and knick-knacks such as small action figures, rubbers, toys, stickers, hair accessories, puzzles, bouncy balls and wrapped sweets (no nuts please) – anything fun that will fit – and leave filled jars in the box in school reception. Thanks!
Next Pub Meeting: Wednesday 6th July, 7.30pm (venue to be confirmed)
