This is a fantastic opportunity to purchase some great books at competitive prices and also help raise funds for our school. Book Club – Whilst Readathon is taking place, we are offering children the chance to join a book club that will be run by a member of staff over lunchtime. Sign up sheets are coming home in book bags tomorrow. Places are limited so will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Book Swap – We are going to hold a book swap after school on Friday 10th February. Please see attached flyer about this event. This is for children and adults. Second – hand uniform sale – Fitz Friends will be holding a second hand uniform sale on Wednesday 1st March. Any donations for the sale should be brought to the office. Many thanks. Fitz Friends Jumble Sale, Saturday 28th January, 2-4pm, 50p entry The Jumble Sale is THIS SATURDAY. Do come along with friends and family and grab a bargain or at least a slice of cake! Donations of clothes, books, bric-a-brac, DVDs, toys and games will be welcome on Thursday (after school) and Friday (before and after school). Please take them direct to the hall. Any help with setting up would be very much appreciated – just come along if you’re free. Thanks to Anna and Claire for offering to keep children entertained with a DVD in a classroom after school on Friday so their parents can set up tables and sort through donations. If you’ve kindly offered to help run a stall at the Jumble Sale, please arrive half an hour before your slot. Finally, if you would like to bake for the café, please take your cake to the hall on Friday 27th January and don’t forget to label your container. These can be collected from reception next week. For any queries, please contact fitzjumblesale@gmail.com School Disco, Wednesday 8th February, £1 entry Fliers have now been sent out. Please return slips with £1 entry per child by Friday 3rd February and make a note on the slip if you are able to help. Film Club The Fitz Friends KS2 Film Club was a BIG (Hero 6) success – the new format, on a Friday after school, attracted new faces who hadn’t been able to come along on a weekend before. I would like to thank Celly, Jenny, Louise, Susie and Ede M for all their help setting up and handing out the hugely anticipated ‘Refreshment Packs’ – all the children for tidying up so quickly – and especially to Miss Blake for crowd control at collection time. The KS2 children were given the opportunity to vote for the film they would like to watch next time and “The Jungle Book“(PG) came out as the clear winner. We look forward to seeing you at the next KS2 Film Club next term. FS2 and KS1 Film Club is on 10th March and (for one time only, as a kick off) pupils can ask you to vote for their premiere film here: http://tinyurl.com/jgetxkl Thank you from Ian Miller.
