Headlines
Smoking – We would like to remind all parents and carers that smoking is not permitted anywhere on School grounds. This includes the use of E-Cigarettes.
Coats – Please can you ensure your child brings a coat to school every day.
Y3/4 World Cup Tag Rugby Festival, BOA Rugby club Winsley – We will be travelling by coach to and from Winsley, leaving School at 9am and returning in time for lunch. Please can you ensure all children are suitably dressed with warm clothing, waterproofs and trainers/rugby boots. The children will be very active during the morning so therefore will need a snack and plenty to drink. We still need more parent helpers, please see your child’s class teacher if you are able to help.
Y4-6 Netball Club – Tuesdays 3.30-4.15pm. There are still some spaces available in Netball Club. If your child would like to join, please see Miss Blake or let the Office know as soon as possible.
Y3/4 Swimming – We would like to remind parents that boys should be wearing proper swimming trunks and not board shorts for their lessons. Board shorts cause drag and actually hinder children learning to swim properly. Please remember that wetsuits are also not to be worn.
Y2 Gym Festival – Thursday 1st October at St. Laurence School, leaving at 9am and returning by lunchtime.
If you are able to help with walking to and from St. Laurence please let your child’s class teacher know.
FSA NEWS
FSA Relaunch – Next Friday 2nd October, we are inviting all parents/carers and children along to the school hall at 3.20pm for the FSA relaunch as Fitz Friends. Please come along to find out a little more about Fitz Friends, to vote for your favourite new logo and also vote for your preferred film for the much-requested next Film Night (Nb: Fri 16th October). There will be free tea & cake for all – how can you resist! We do hope you’ll pop by.
St Laurence Street Party – Can you spare just 1 hour to man a lucky dip Street Party stall? Sat 26th September? No preparation involved! Fab Fitz families please can you help?
The St. Laurence Street Party fundraiser is coming on Saturday 26th September, 12- 5pm, Church Street, Bradford on Avon. Each year Fitz has a stall which we use to raise money for your kids at school. Usually we make a profit of about £100. Marvellous Mel, Awesome Anna and Heroic Helen have offered to help with one hour slots. Would you like to join “Team Street Party”? No experience necessary. Bring a friend if you like. No preparation involved. Punters pay you and then rummage in our pre-made lucky dip box. Float will be prepared and takings collected by an FSA committee member. We think it best if we only do 1 hour slots so that nobody has to give up too much of their Saturday. If you think you can help then please email sallytonkin@talktalk.net or chat to Sally (Dylan and Tillie’s mum) or Helen (Freya and Millie’s mum).
Super Street Party Thanks! Sally on behalf of FSA
