Walk to School week – To keep super healthy during Health Week, we would like to challenge and encourage you to walk to school for the week (Monday 22nd – Friday 26th June). We appreciate that some of you do already but we also know some of you need to travel longer distances. If you do come by car please park a little distance away so that you walk 5 or 10 minutes (you might also want to consider car sharing). Each day your child’s class teacher will be tallying up scores to see how the children got to school and compare this with the data we have on how people usually come to school. The class with the highest score will get an afternoon session on the play equipment, Yay!
So get your trainers and walking boots on and stroll on in.
Mr Darvill & the Eco Team
Summer weather– Now that the weather is warmer, please ensure you are applying sun cream to your child before coming to school. All children should also be bringing sun hats to school. Children are allowed to have drinks bottles in class, containing water (not squash, energy drinks etc.). Please make sure all items are named.
Non – Uniform Day, Friday 19th June – All children may wear their own clothes to school tomorrow in return for a donation to the Strawberry Fair. The FSA will be outside the front of School in the morning to collect your donations from you. Donations can be any of the following: Bric-a-brac items – in good condition e.g. toys, games, dvds, Soft toys, Jumble Jars – filled with fun Tombola items eg. choccies, unopened smellies, wine & unwanted gifts, books & plants, bottles – anything from ketchup to wine! ‘Fitz Fashion Finds’ & ‘Nearly New Uniform’
Y3/4 Swimming Gala, Wednesday 24th June – All children will be participating in the gala from 9.30 – 10.30. We would welcome your support at the pool if you can come. Miss Blake also needs extra helpers on the day to be poolside to ensure the gala runs smoothly. If you can help please see Miss Blake before Wednesday. All children will be leaving school at 9am so please arrive promptly if you are helping with walking to/from the pool.
Head Lice. Please check regularly for the presence of head lice and treat immediately. For further information visit http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Head-lice/Pages/Treatment.aspx.

If your name is chosen, you will receive £100 of book tokens to use personally, as well as providing 100’s of new books for our school library!

Café Yum Yum
Thank you to everyone who has donated food or volunteered to help in the café, on the tills or selling strawberries. The lists are still in reception – please remind yourself what you’ve signed up for! Food can be delivered to the school kitchen on Friday after school or anytime from 9am on Saturday. Thanks for your help.
Raffle Tickets
Please could everyone search their Strawberry Fair bags and return any unwanted/unsold raffle tickets to the office ASAP. It’s really not a problem if you haven’t sold them, but others are desperate to buy and we’re running out so all spares would be much appreciated (& maximise money for your children!) Thank you so much to all that have bought and sold to date.
Helpers at the Strawberry Fair
We still need people to help with set-up from 8.30am on Saturday (& clearing down at the end). If you are able to lend a hand, please see Julia or just pop along on Saturday – willing hands are always welcome! Please remember the stall slots you signed up for (check if you’re not sure) & when your children are performing at Café Yum Yum to ensure they get plenty of support.
– Come along, bring family, friends, neighbours; enjoy a fabulous lunch in Café Yum Yum or from the BBQ, bring bags for your bric-a-brac & book bargains (yes we sell our books cheaply but the whole community of all ages benefit & recycle them back through us next year! We positively bring affordable reading to BoA! Brilliant!), have a Pimm’s, ‘have a go’ at one of our many new & favourite stalls, take a picture with your hair standing on end (!), have a crack at our FREE circus skills workshops, challenge friends to a bungee run race, chat with friends, just be there, it’s going to be brilliant & all on your doorstep! See you Saturday.
Thanks – FSA
