Congratulations to our new house captains this term who are: Takara C and Ned L (Pine), Eddy W and Popi M (Willow), Tom L and Carys M (Oak), Jack C and Evelyn D’A (Poplar). Well done to Poplar House who are currently in the lead on house points.
Library – Mrs Saunders is looking for parent helpers to work with our junior librarians at lunchtimes so that children can borrow and return books from our school library. If you are able to spare an hour (12.30 – 1.30) on a regular basis once a week, please contact the school office. Many thanks.
Y3/4 Swimming lessons – swimming for years 3 & 4 will start on Wednesday 23rd September. Please ensure your child has their kit in school on this day. Each class will also need parents to help walk the children to and from the swimming pool. So far we have had very little response for Dove and Swift classes. If you are able to help, please see your child’s class teacher ASAP. We also have swimming hats available from the school office for £1 each.
Y2 Gym Festival – Thursday 1st October at St. Laurence School, leaving at 9am and returning by lunchtime.
If you are able to help with walking to and from St. Laurence please let your child’s class teacher know.
Netball Club starts Tuesday 29th September, 3.30pm – 4.15pm.
This is a new club this term run by Miss Blake and Miss Vaughan open to boys and girls in Years 4 – 6.
Places are limited to 20. Please sign the consent form below and return asap to the school office.

BRADFORD-ON-AVON FIREWORKS 2015 (Please see book bag flyers sent out today for full details).
The annual Fireworks event in aid of the three schools in Bradford-on-Avon will be on:
Saturday 7th November 2015, the Beehive Field, Trowbridge Road. Gates will open at The Beehive Field at 5.30pm. This is a fantastic night of fun and a big fundraiser that raises much needed funds for Fitzmaurice, Christ Church and St Laurence schools.
Attractions include a barbecue, hog roast, beer tent including real ales and mulled wine, candy floss, popcorn, and live music. Local groups will be performing from 5.45pm. Fireworks start at 7.00pm. And for children there will be an inflatable assault course and a bouncy castle.
Help is required!
As always we need plenty of volunteers – all vital to the success and safety of the event.
