Scooter Skills – Please note that the date has had to be changed and will now take place on Friday 29th January for those that have already signed up.
Year 3/4 Swimming – We still need parent helpers to walk the children to and from the pool. Please see your child’s class teacher if you are able to volunteer.
Parent Governor Ballot – All parents and carers should receive a voting slip today. Completed voting papers should be returned in the enclosed envelope and placed in the Governor Election Voting Box that is in the School reception.
Blackbird Cake Sale – Due to the Yr 1 /2 trip to @Bristol on Friday 5th Feb, the Blackbird Cake Sale will now take place on Friday 12th Feb.
Outside Play and Forest Schools – Please note that Forest Schools will run whatever the weather so children should come prepared with suitable footwear and clothing. All children require an appropriate winter coat to be able to play outside at break-time and lunchtime. Those that fail to bring one in may have to spend their break-time indoors.
Young Voices 2016 – After hours on the coach, we finally spotted the sign to the NEC. It felt amazing to be where thousands of stars had performed. After lunch we were rushed into the stands for rehearsal. Our seats were really high up and we could see almost everything from them. We expected a boring, tedious rehearsal with nothing to do except sing, but we were proved wrong when we learned dances and “The Beatbox Collective” taught us how to beatbox. We were also joined by Laura Wright who sung at the Rugby World Cup and Tom Billington – a crazy man with suits just as crazy as him!
After tea, when the concert started, the nerves started to sink in, though when we started singing that was all fixed as we were having so much fun. During the concert we waved our Young Voices torches at our parents in the other stand and even though some didn’t notice (I’m looking at you, Evie’s Dad), we still saw some of them wave their phone torches in the air.
It was an amazing day and it was definitely an experience we will never forget and would highly recommend for anyone who gets the chance to go in the future.

I am incredibly proud of the children who represented Fitz brilliantly. I’d like to thank the staff for organising such a fabulous experience for the children – well worth the late night!
We will be holding a Young Voices Assembly on Monday 25th January at 9.05am and would like to invite all parents and carers of Children who attended the Young Voices trip to come and watch. We hope you can join us.
The separate Fitz Friends Newsletter will now go out on the last Friday of the month, rather than every week. We will keep you up to date with little reminders in Fitz Weekly and provide further details via the Fitz Friends Facebook page, school web page and monthly newsletter.
