Quadkids Final
On Wednesday 8th July, the Quadkids team went to the County Athletics Final at Marlborough College. Our team was split into boys and girls for their events, with all scores contributing to the overall team total. Everyone achieved a personal best in long distance running, sprinting, standing long jump or vortex throwing. We all performed brilliantly and scored loads of points which resulted in us coming 5th overall out of 15 teams, and we are now placed 1st for all of West Wiltshire! After the tournament, Miss Blake let us go to a small activity fair where everything was free, and Miss Blake even learnt to hula hoop! Special thanks to Cally Smart for helping get us there and back. We had a fantastic day, well done everyone!

International Football Tournament
On Friday 4th July, we took part in an international football tournament at Christchurch. The tournament was fun even though there were some tough teams. . Our 1st match was against Malta. We thought we could beat them but their striker Zane scored a couple of cracking goals and we eventually lost. When we played Winsley we drew 1-1. We finally played Christchurch who were a brilliant team and we lost 3-2 after a great performance. Overall we came 3rd. We would like to thank Simon Richards for being a brilliant coach.

Gardening Club – The gardening club have been working hard since the Easter holidays, growing a variety of vegetables and flowers in our polytunnel, to plant in our raised beds and sell at the Strawberry Fair. They grew most of these from seed and have spent many of their lunchtime breaks watering and tending to the seedlings. With the help of members of the gardening club we produced a wonderful display of plants for the Strawberry Fair and raised an impressive £115 for the school. I would like to say a big thank you to all members of the team for their dedication and enthusiasm. I hope you have had lots of fun and enjoyed learning a bit about gardening! Miss Evans

French Twinning Association – BASTILLE DATE PLATE SUPPER Sunday July 12th @ 4 pm.
If you were at the Strawberry Fair you may be aware the Twinning Association organises Events throughout the year and is working hard to increase and develop the relationship between the Sully Sur Loire primary school and Fitzmaurice. We are planning another visit to Sully at half term next year (May/June 2016) for 4 days, the cost per head for parents and children will be in the order of £120 which includes the cost of the coach travel, food is provided so there are no additional cost involved. Last year we did some cycling along the Loire, this is optional but great fun for children and adults.
To familiarise parents with the French Twinning and this Bastille Event you are invited to come along next Sunday between 4 pm and 7/8pm @ the West Barn. Members of the Twinning are paying £5 per head and are bringing a plate of food. There will not be a charge if you are not a member. If you wish to bring a plate of food, salad, main or dessert, please let me know so we can try and co-ordinate. Please contact by telephone 869466 or email mauricemason@btinternet.com if you have any questions and would like to come,
