Dove - Y3/4

Welcome to Dove!

We are a mixed class from years 3&4 and you will find us in the KS2 corridor, in the classroom nearest the hall.

Our teacher is Miss Debbie Moore and our teaching assistants are Mrs McGrath and Mrs Fisher.

We began our ‘Fantastic Beasts’ topic this term with an exciting treasure hunt around school, to discover clues about what we might be reading this term. The children gathered the clues together and were able to work out that our learning this term will centre on the text ‘How To Train Your Dragon’.

In writing, we will be taking inspiration from our class story in order to plan and write our own narratives. These will feature our own fantastic beast characters and exciting plots.

In Science, we will be approaching the theme of ‘Fantastic Beasts’ through the classification and grouping of different animals, including animal groups, types of teeth and food chains.

In Geography, the children will continue to develop their mapping skills and knowledge of physical features when designing and creating their beasts’ habitats.

Our Art this term will culminate in the creation of a class dragon. The children will each work through a process of designing and printing their own patterned dragon scales to produce the finished beast!

PE Days

Our PE day is Monday. Please make sure that your child has a PE with them on this day.

Swimming/Forest Schools

Swimming and Forest School will take place on a Wednesday morning on the following dates:

Forest School:

04.09.19 TO 20.11.19

Children will need a spare change of clothes, including a long sleeve top and long trousers. They will also need a pair of wellies or old trainers, which they don't mind getting muddy. If you want to send your child in wearing their forest school clothes this is fine, but they must have their school uniform to change into for the afternoon.

(Please note - no swimming on 18.12)
