Welcome to Dove!
We are a mixed class from years 3&4 and you will find us in the KS2 corridor, in the classroom nearest the hall.
Our teacher is Miss Debbie Moore and our teaching assistants are Mrs McGrath and Mrs Fisher.
Welcome back to the start of a brand new year in Dove Class. Our theme this term in ‘Incredible Me, Incredible You'.
We have already begun this exciting topic by challenging ourselves to identify some of the staff in school from their childhood photographs! My how they have changed!
Our writing focus this term will be centred on creating biographies and autobiographies. Within this, the children will have to opportunity to reflect on milestones in their own lives, as well as interviewing others to find out about the lives of a different generation. This links to our History, exploring the lives of people in the sixties and drawing comparisons with our own lives.
In Science, we will be approaching the theme of ‘Incredible Me’ by identifying the bones which make up our skeleton and by learning about its purpose. We will also explore the functions of our muscles.
For our Art project, the children will be developing their resilience in learning as we create and reflect upon several drafts of a self-portrait. There will be a particular focus upon the correct proportion of their facial features. Watch this space for photographs of our amazing work!
Later in the theme, the children will be attempting to create a basic family tree to reflect on how incredible their families are.
TT Rock Stars
Our PE days are Monday and Tuesday.
Swimming and Forest School will take place on a Wednesday morning on the following dates:
04.09.19 TO 20.11.19
Children will need a spare change of clothes, including a long sleeve top and long trousers. They will also need a pair of wellies or old trainers, which they don't mind getting muddy. If you want to send your child in wearing their forest school clothes this is fine, but they must have their school uniform to change into for the afternoon.
(Please note - no swimming on 18.12)
