Uniform Information

HZ7A1798
Fitzmaurice Primary School

The school uniform is an important part of the school’s identity and all children are expected to conform to the requirements set out below. We aim for uniform to be accessible to all and use ethically traded low cost suppliers. We ensure maximum flexibility to ensure that no one is disadvantaged by price.

Fleeces, sweatshirts, sweat cardigans, polo shirts and book bags embroidered with the school logo can be purchased from Trowbridge Schoolwear in Trowbridge. Other items can be purchased from high street clothes stores.

Second-Hand Uniform can also be purchased via our Fitz Friends Facebook page or by completing the order form below and dropping it back into the school office. All orders are placed in a 'Click and Collect' box in the school reception foyer for you to collect at your convenience. Further information can be found on the PTA section of our website.

Labelling Clothing

Please label all your child’s school clothes and possessions so that they can be returned quickly if they are separated from their owner. (Please see below re. lost property.)

If you would like to purchase name labels, STIKINS have joined partnership with our school. STICKINS are vinyl labels which can be stuck onto the wash-care label of clothes, and the same label can also be used on shoes, dishwasher items and general school items. If you would like to purchase these name labels, please go to the website. If you enter the code 7341 at checkout, we will earn 30% commission for every order placed, which all goes back into helping your children!

School Bags

A rucksack that is big enough to fit a picture book/book without bending it is preferred. Book bags with the school logo can be used but only ONE bag is allowed in school.

Water Bottles

All pupils are required to bring a named bottle containing water for use during the school day.

Sun Hat/Sun cream

In summer, the wearing of sun hats is encouraged. Sun cream should be applied at home by parents/carers before school. Children can apply their own sun cream during the day, but must not to share it with others. School staff cannot apply sun cream to children in their care.

Jewellery, Hair Accessories, Make-up and Nail Varnish

Jewellery must not be worn, the only exception being small gold stud earrings. The wearing of earrings in PE lessons and swimming can be dangerous and is therefore not allowed (they should be removed or taped over).

Nail varnish must not be worn in school.

Extreme e.g. shaved (including tramlines), or dyed hairstyles are not permissible.  Hair accessories (i.e. clips and hairbands) should be purely functional.

Lost Property

One of our 'Covid Keepers' is that we will no longer be keeping lost property. Everything that comes into school should be named clearly. (Not just initials please.)

Named lost property will be returned to its owner.

Unnamed uniform will be donated to FitzFriends, to be sold as second hand. Anything else will be put in the rag bag collection.
