Burpee Challenge Fundraiser
On Tuesday 10th October, we will be holding a sports fundraiser – “The Fitz as a Fiddle Burp-athon!”
All pupils will be competing in their house groups to see which team can perform the most burpees, with an overall school aim of performing a massive total number in one day!
Sponsorship forms will be coming home soon, and all funds raised will be put towards the tennis court refurbishment. We're also inviting parents to come along on the day and join in – it will be a great opportunity to exercise alongside your child(ren) and to help us bump up our total number of burpees to reach a huge figure.
Sessions will be taking place at the beginning and end of the day, allocated by house group. A burpee is a straightforward exercise movement that engages every part of the body – you simply drop down to the floor and then get back up again! You can do them as quickly or slowly as you wish, and you don't have to be really fit to join in. Simon Beatson (a local personal trainer and one of our parents) will be running the sessions, delivering a warm-up and a 'how to burpee' instruction beforehand.
If you'd like to practice before the event, you will find the instruction video below. If you have any
questions about the challenge please contact Simon on firstname.lastname@example.org or Miss Blake.
