The Governing Body exists to provide strategic oversight to the way the school is run and to be accountable for the decisions made by it. We have one over-riding purpose: to help make Fitzmaurice the best place for our children to learn.
We are comprised of 11 individuals, plus the Head Teacher representing parents, staff and members of the community. We all voluntarily give up our time to be governors.
Throughout the year we have responsibility for approving budgets, monitoring academic progress, auditing safeguarding procedures and recruiting teaching staff amongst many other things. In recent years we have also overseen the expansion of the school through the addition of 3 classrooms and group rooms and the drive to continually improve standards.
