Christmas Dress up Day– On Friday 18th December we will be having a Christmas dress up day where children can wear something ‘christmassy’ to School in exchange for a £1 donation. Fitz Friends News

Fireworks a soaring success!

Huge thanks to everyone who came along to support the Fireworks event! It was fab to see so many friendly faces! Super thanks to Russ and the Fireworks committee for taking on the monster task of organising it all! A very special shout out to the amazing army of Fitz volunteers who helped make it all happen: dug turf in appalling conditions, built bonfires, pre-cooked sausages, marshalled, set up, cleared up, worked on very busy stalls, sold tickets, put up posters and litter picked!

We will let you know as soon as we find out how much the event has raised for our kids at Fitz…

Christmas!

I’d like to say sorry that we have so much going on this term. I have got some ideas to change the schedule of activities for 2016/17 so the financial cost of contributing to Fitz Friends activities is spread out better and doesn’t hit in the Christmas build up.

Festive Fun!

We are really proud that we are using the funds raised by Fitz Friends for the following festive treats for our kids:

“Snowmouse” a trip to the Egg theatre for every child in the Nest

“The Snow Queen” a trip to the pantomime for every child in KS1 and KS2

Christmas crackers for every child attending the school Christmas Dinner

Christmas Tree to deck our school hall!

Cracking Christmas Fair

Come along and tell your friends!

Come along and enjoy the Christmas Fair on Saturday 28th November, 13:30- 16:30. Exciting news…the miniature festive donkeys are back by popular demand! Many thanks to our fab friends at Co-operative Funeralcare Bradford on Avon for sponsoring them!

Class Hampers

We are going to try a new idea for the Christmas Fair raffle…

Fitz Friends have put a box in each classroom and would be thrilled if each child brought in a small item based on the class theme to put in. The items can be small, but we would like them to be new so we can collect them and make them into amazing hampers to raffle away at the Christmas Fair. Please donate by Weds 25th November.

Hamper themes:

The Nest: Chocolate

Years 1 & 2: Seasonal decorations

Years 3 & 4 : Arts & crafts

Year 5: Cooking & baking

Year 6: Family night in

Raffle tickets

A book of raffle tickets was sent home this week. There are great prizes such as a Spa Day for Two at Woolley Grange Hotel and the class hampers. Please return unsold tickets or ticket stubs with money to the office as soon as you can.

Tombola

We are collecting donations for the tombola stall now in the school office. Donations of new/ unwanted gifts, smellies, bottles or tins of food greatly appreciated.

Prizes for Christmas Drawing Competition

Please see attached flyer for details of the Christmas drawing competition. Any child who would like to take part is invited to draw a Christmassy picture and return it to the school office by 24th November.

Rag Bag has finished :0(

Sadly we heard this week that Rag Bag will no longer be offering any collections of old clothes. It’s a great shame as it’s been an excellent fundraiser for Fitz. We’re really sorry and disappointed that we cannot accept any more old clothes in the Rag Bag bank. Many thanks to super star volunteers Esther and Nicolette for all their efforts organising this and sorting/ shifting huge sacks of clothes and thanks to everyone who has donated to the rag bag. You can still:

• Donate saleable second-hand uniform to sell at our cake sales, etc.

• Save saleable second-hand clothes to donate to our jumble sale on January 16th.

Hooray for 100 Likes!

Thanks for your help… we reached 100 likes on our FB page. When we hit 150 we will choose a liker at random to win a bottle of fizz!
