We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Friday 3rd September.  Staff have been working hard between training sessions to get everything organised.  The school hall and kitchen have been completely gutted over the holidays and are now being rebuilt.  The hall is almost in a useable state and we are hopeful that we will be able to have our first assembly in it by the middle of next week.  There will be a bit of disruption around the school because of the building works but our priority is to carry on as usual whilst making sure everyone stays safe.  Please supervise your children at all times whilst they are on the school premises.

Please remember that there will be no hot meals available at lunchtime.  Sandwiches can be ordered from Sodexo at a cost of £2.15 per day.  The orders will be collected by 9.30am each day.  If your child is entitled to free school meals a packed lunch will be provided.  If your child is bringing a packed lunch from home, please double check that they have it with them because there will be no back up option of a meal from the kitchen if a lunchbox is forgotten.

We have to submit our music lesson booking form to Wiltshire Council Music Service  by the beginning of July.  If your child wishes to have music lessons next year you must tell us now using the attached form.  Music teachers’ time is allocated to schools in accordance with requests made now and it is not easy to alter this during the year.  If you do not book your child’s lesson now it is unlikely they will be able to start lessons at a later date and will have to wait until September 2011!   Music lesson booking form June 10

The pedestrian crossing on Trowbridge Road will be switched of for a week from Monday 14th June to Friday 18th June due to drainage works.  Please make sure that your child is supervised crossing the road.

On Friday 14th May Fitzmaurice swimmers won the cluster inter-schools gala.  They now go forward to the West Wilts finals on 24th June.  Well done to all our swimmers for their fantastic performance.

On Wednesday 19th May the athletics team took part in the Quadkids competition at Bath University.  The children all had to take part in four different events with their scores being counted towards the team total.  After an excellent performance the team finished as West Wiltshire Team Champions!  The County finals will be held on Tuesday 13th July.
